New K11 carbine
New K11 carbine
I just bought a Swiss K11 carbine and it looks good in the pictures. The gun also has an intact troop tag.
The serial number indicates it is converted to a K11 from a 1905 or at least that's what I think happened. I'll have the gun in a week. Can't wait to shoot it.
This is my first Swiss straight pull rifle; it's something totally different from red rifles.

Re: New K11 carbine
I think I should be calling it a M96/1911 due to the conversion?

Leave it as it is. The ages have been at work on it and man can only mar it.

Best stock up on GP11 ammo as you are going to love the way it shoots.

Re: New K11 carbine
I got one of the 1905 short rifles to K11 conversion recently also. Congrats. It looks like a nice one.

Very neat!! I adore my K11. It is my favorite rifle to shoot!

Nice.
I was in Wholesale (St.Albert trail) last week and they had a bunch of GP11 ammo on sale.
I forgot the price tho.

Re: New K11 carbine
I loved the k-11 I had, had to trade and a pump shotgun for a 7.62 AR Panther that a forum member now owns. The only drawback was the first sight setting is 300 yd. so "aim low men, there riding shetland ponies" They shoot 9" high at 100. I built up my front sight so I could hold dead on at 100. If I aim at the center of a deers neck base, I want to aim where I,m going to hit, not guess.

Could be. All I know is non converted 1905's are very rare since they converted them over to the K11 style.Cj556 wrote:Isnt K05/11 the designation for these?

The serial number has been bugging me so I did more digging and I'm pretty sure this particular gun is a model 00/11

Re: New K11 carbine
Well the K11 arrived yesterday. I'm kind of confused about this gun's lineage because the S/N should be for a Model 1900. I think it's a Model 00/11
The whole gun is matching, bluing is pretty worn but the bore is 10/10. Does anyone have any insight about these guns?
Sonny's tip about cheap ammo was great - Wholesale Sports still have a crap-load of it on sale so I loaded up.

I have one but have not fired it as yet. If your computer has a translator on it this is an excellent source site for Swiss rifles. https://www.swisswaffen.com/?LP=H3

You might want to ask some folks on http://www.swissrifles.com/ to see if they can figure out what your rifle is.
