"Ishevsk is a city in Russia"
"In the Soviet Union, Ishevsk was capital of the usmurtish ASSR. Up to today Ishevsk held different factories for the production of military , sport and hunting weapons. The successor of the former Ishevsk weapon manufacturer is today's Izhmash company."

Re: Izhmash??
In case we are talking about rifles produced since middle of 1920's, "Izhmash" can also be used, and possibly it is even more correct than "Izhevsk" - rifles were produced not by city (Izhevsk), but by a certain factory. Izmash is abbreviation from "Izhevsk Machinebuilding factory" (Ижевский Машиностроительный завод), which was actual manufacturer of rifles. In 1930's factory also had code name - number #180, since 1939 - #74 NKV, which was used during all wartime years. All wartime documents related to production used numeric name of factory.NLMosin wrote:So when someone lists a 91/30 Izhmash Mosin for sale thats not exactly accurate....
