If I had my guess it looks like a russian 'D' but I was wondering what anyone might know about this marking. Thanks Gents!

Unsure what that is, but I recall something about a circled cyrillic "D" being a Serbian aid mark. I could be wrong on that, but it would only apply to an older WWI era rifle.
