My first Mosin

Post by targetman »

Found this on Gun Broker. Just happened to be in my home town. I'm new to these rifles. I wish I was a little more educated, but I just couldn't pass it up.

Nice looking rifle. Looks to be in great shape, do you have any that show the whole length? How much did you pay for her?

I had to resize these pics. Seller was an FFL. I walked out with gun and box and a half of ammo for 250. The rifle measures 48 1/2 inches ling.

Looks like a good looking rifle, sounds like you got a good deal for what they are selling for now a days. Welcome to the forum! I'm pretty new here as well.

The metal is in really nice shape! Must have been Ivan's Sunday-go-to-meeting rifle. Welcome. :wave.gif:

You'll have a couple dozen in no time. Sell your car and use the monthly payment you're saving to buy one or two a month. Then hitchhike to work. At least you'll have something to talk about on the ride. I know it sounds ridiculous right....or did you just wonder how that might play out? :shifty:

Welcome! 1929 Tula ex-Dragoon!

This is a very nice start to your collection. Considering that you got some ammo with her, the price wasn't bad.

It's a re-furbished rifle, but it looks to be in great shape.

Congratulations, that's a nice first Mosin! Like the others have said, save your money, it's going to demand some more Russian friends in the safe!

Place two or more Mosins inside a gun safe and they will multiply. :)

Nice first Mosin a 29 Tula, my first was a 28 Tula. I now have 9 others to keep it company, like everybody has said they
seem to multiply on their own.

Nice looking rifle. Good find. Look at that Star stamp man that thing is deep. Old Ivan must have been feeling mighty strong that day.

A nice catch for a first or 10th Mosin. Read up on care and cleaning after shooting and ask lots of questions. The older members like to show off for new guys.
