I needed that!!

Post by jimpierce7 »

Wow did I ever need that!! What a beautiful morning at the range. Just warm enough (before I left) for my ears to sweat inside the ear muffs. Yet my dang glasses kept steaming up. No excuses though. I beat the hell outta the paper and I beat the hell outta the steel. I also was not the only Mosin shooter there today either. I gotta say though, no matter how good I think I was doing, the guy next to me was a competition shooter. Ten spots the size of a quarter he calls "targets" from the back it looked like he shot 10 rounds, each dead center. He swore each hole was 5 rounds. :shifty: I don't know............ lol

I had a blast and am 120 rounds lighter.

Today's rifles were
1940 VKT M91
1942 VKT M91
M39 8-)
M44

first up was the '42 M91 Of course, all are from 100 yards.

then the '40 M91

Then my M39

last was my M44

I shot alot at the steel targets too, as long as they were hanging. I think it's time to start shooting off hand more. Fun stuff!!

now that's a shot of a happy, content man on this Sunday morning.

Nice shooting! I took a friend to the range Friday. We effectively shot the legs off my target stand.

It was his fault! He brought the .270!! A Savage Axis, synthetic, in .270. :big shock: Waylaid my skinny self.
Things could be worse. Work to keep from finding out how much worse.

I was selling all morning, one after another people would show up, collect the junk they bought and hand me cash. Every rough old car, relic piece of equipment, box of lawnmower parts, that I have been trying to unload all winter sold this week and was collected today. Now I have to find a place to hide all this cash.
Leave it as it is. The ages have been at work on it and man can only mar it.

oh god no. It was a fancy competition rifle. Had a scope that could count butt hairs on a fly at 1000 meters.
