how do you go about getting a c & r licensed ? what do they cost thanks

You go to the BATFE web site and print two copys of the application, follow the directions and fill them out, one copy back to BATFE, the other to the chief law enforcement officer in your area. You must be 21, a US citizen, and a clean record of course. You may also have state or local laws to comply with, .

When I re-upped mine the cost was $35.00 for the three year permit.

I filled out the form. Sent the check. Waited. Got the License. Easy Peasy. 8-)

I had one for 3 years and was a happy camper. I fooled around and let it expire. Then I found out you cannot renew it unless you do it before it expires. No problem, just apply again. I was even able to fill out the forms online then print the application so that it was all professional looking and legible. It will take approx 2 months to receive it. Some are quicker, and some a little longer. It is so cool to be able to receive then to your door and save the dealer fees. The chief law enforcement officer is your local chief of police or county sheriff
