Pair of she52 carbines

Post by fintowin »

Layin down heavy fire tonight, but I had an exciting day at an auction today. Picked up a pair of she52's. $150 for one, $175 for the other. Seemed like a good gamble to me, as I know little to nothing about these. One has a worn bore, the other is pretty good, but still somewhat wore. I also got a bunch of ammo for it. Got the ammo for about 26 cents a round. About half of it is on stripper clips. I don't know if this is a good price for the ammo, but I really didn't know where else to get it. I just kept bidding until I got it. The carbines are pretty well used, but the previous owner said they both were solid performers. Tomorrow I will put some ammo through them and see.

Same here, but I like em  price seems pretty good also. Pretty cool bayonet tucked in there. Looks like some good wood under the black stuff.

Those are Czech VZ52s in 7.62x54mm or VZ52/57s in 7.62x39mm. The black Rhino Liner paint is not original and was done by Century Arms when they imported them effectively destroying any collectable value. Regardless these are rare and a good find even after being raped by Century. Enjoy them.

WHY would they do that? :vsad:
Damn, I'll bet that's going to leave a mark! Probably hurt too!

Apparently these were in pretty bad shape when they were imported so Century in their stupidity destroyed them further in the hope to make them marketable.

7.62x45mm not 54mm. The black rhino coating was put on by century to hide bad and broken stocks. Sometimes there are good stocks under it but most of the time they are messed up. Nice buy if you ask me. :Drool1:  :vcool: :vcool:

Yeah, I knew that they were coated with truck bedliner by the importer. I figured I couldn't go wrong at the price I paid. I just fired both of them, and they work perfectly. I only test fired for function out the back door. I will get them to the range for accuracy test some day soon, hopefully. They are kind of cool no matter what.
