This Dragoon has quite a varied history. The stock started on a M91 in 1891, 1892, or the first half of 1893 (evidence is the finger rest repair.) It did not have a crossbolt at that time but a wooden one was added later, likely after the introduction of the 1908 spitzer cartridge. A year or so later, the wooden crossbolt was drilled and a steel crossbolt installed. During WWI, it was captured by the Germans (see the German Deutsches Reich property mark). Probably between the wars it was sold to Finland where it was mated with a separate rifle, a bought or captured 1925 Izhevsk Dragoon. This rifle has a very faint boxed SA mark. The Finns spliced a new forend using the typical Finn splice. At some time a leather sling was added that included the boxed SA mark.
