1956 Tula Arsenal SKS
I am looking at a 1956 Tula arsenal SKS. I have only seen one picture. Looks like a laminated stock. He said that it doesn't have a date stamp on it. It does have the 5 point star, with no date. He says all the numbers match. What I have read, says, there might have not been a 1956 Tula SKS. Any info, on this SKS would be helpful. He is wanting $450 for it. I know Russian SKS usually bring more than the norinco. Just trying to get an idea, of what it would be worth, and is there a 1956 Tula SKS producted. Any info would be greatly appreciated!

Mine is a 1950 Tula, I do know $450 is the current rate now on GB, don't know much else.
Leave it as it is. The ages have been at work on it and man can only mar it.

It's either a late '55 or a '56 Tula. If the bolt is black, chances are it's a refurb, which is not a bad thing Also, is there a letter after the serial number??? $450 is a decent price for any Russian SKS in todays market.

Sounds like a reasonable price in todays market.
If corporations are people, when will we see one executed?
Re: 1956 Tula Arsenal SKS
The star on the receive with no date could be a late '55 or a '56. There's really no way to tell without knowing the letter after the serial number, and then it is still debatable.
Price is within reason.

There was an entire rack of them in the gunshop the day I picked the Tula, al for under $200. I went for the oldest date I could find of course. I know there was a 51 there also, but nothing older. I should have bought them all, but who knew.

Sounds like a good deal if there is a letter at the end of the serial #. Some 55/56 did come in original laminate stocks. 450 for even a refurb isn't bad.

I saw one on GB selling in that range the other day, auction wasn't over so it could have gone higher later.
