My Sako is about 1200 numbers behind yours. With those serial #'s, it's a SAKO barrel.

Note the gear with the S in the middle = SAKO

Re: considering first Finnish M39 purchase

PUOLUSTUSLAITOS is "PL marked". That makes it worth a bit more.

Re: considering first Finnish M39 purchase

I have one like that but paid $395 for it 15 years ago. I was offered $1100 for it 3 years ago now.

So, with the "flame stock and straight stock, that seems to be an OK price.

Oh, mine was PL marked also. Still have it.

Record setter, and it is supposed to be hotter tomorrow and Sunday. Jim, do you have an extra room? I wonder what it is like in Sonny's neck of the woods? Way to hot at that time of the night. We are running a little "cool" for this time of year. Usually we are in the high 90's to 105 dur...

Re: The Mosin You Wish You Still Had

Usually this happens to everyone. But, I have every firearm I have ever bought still. I have never sold anything .... ever. One of the reasons I have so many but, when you do this, you fight with yourself about selling one. You just can't bring yourself to do it for the first time!. I think they cal...

I'm right in there with Jim (junk). Clean it and shoot it then clean it. It will sometime shoot better and better as you go. I've seen guy go after the lead build up so hard that the rifle shoots like crap after words. Looked good, just wouldn't shoot anymore! :chuckles: Only thing that "has to...

Re: The heat has driven me inside

As you might remember, I have this same knife. It was my Dad's and he used it hunting for years. He got it while in the Army (as I remember) for a Navy guy or something. I have it written down somewhere. Those sheaths are not easy to fine (and certainly not cheap). This man has skills with leather! ...

I'm one of the lucky ones I guess. I have had the same guy for ... well, ...... years now.
Great guy too.

They need to weed those bad apples out but you know, it is the Federal Govt and they can't fire people like that. That's the reason some things are in the crapper.

Wow, that is a beautiful find. Should be great to shoot (if you can hang on to it!) :chuckles:

I have weak wrists, I need something a little less of a "bite" unfortunately.
