Re: New Members, Make your first post here!

Hi, After many years of .303 shooting and having watched my friends with their MN rifles, I am about to buy my first one, I will probably be asking several questions to cover off my lack of knowledge. Regards Steve Welcome to the forums!!! We are here to help you out. We have a load of long time Mo...

Re: Not a beast, but a Savage

That is a really nice looking pistol. I like it a lot. If it were in a larger cal. I'd like it better.

Beautiful Dogs! When I read the "subject" I thought, what the heck is he doing with "Back Hoes". ;mywink; My mind went instantly to giving you some "stuff" about playing with "hoes" but......... But when I read it, I though, "man, that's much worse!"...

Re: 1942r Mosin Sniper Reciever Help

Hard to tell with so little photos. Looks like a "fake" mount. The rifle was a sniper at one time (see scope numbers on left side) but, without more photos, who knows. You don't show the bolt. Is it straight or bent? I'd pass on it. What is the import mark? Where is the scope? and mount? D...

Making a new post here after shooting Mosins at the range (and wrestling with sticky bolts on my refurb M44) a few times these past couple weeks. Hope to learn more from this forum.
Looking forward to it!

Welcome!

Re: PU scope mount

It would be a destruction of a perfectly good Standard M91/30 and would be worth only what it's parts would bring. M91/30 is a piece of history. drilling it in any way (or altering it) is a sad day and your investment will go down in value. To me, it would take a rifle purchased for around $100 4 or...

Yeah, PW arms is not a known importer of sniper rifles (as I remember). They imported standard M91/30's.

After market scope too.

Re: M28 30 Un-numbered bolt question

I just picked up a Finnish Model 28 30. Rifle’s serial is in the 41,0000 range. The bolt is a New England Westinghouse bolt. Has the E on top of the bolt body. But there are no numbers on the bolt at all. Did the Finns use bolts in the M28 30 that were not numbered to the barrel? Rifle is in pretty...

Re: 1943r 91/30 barrel shank Marking HELP!

Any photos of the entire rifle and the scope and mounts and bolt??????? I can tell it it looks like a reproduction to me just based on the few photos you posted. Sniper rifles were finished a little nicer then a standard M91/30. The machining on that one is pretty rough for a sniper rifle. If this i...

Re: Help needed

This is still a reproduction in my mind. If it is in ex-sniper configuration, than that is what it is. It is no longer a sniper rifle. You might as well convert a standard Mosin over to sniper in my mind. It will never be the same as a real sniper rifle and if you thing people can't tell the differe...

No, the file somehow got all screwed up and we had to hand straighten them out. Took a lot of time.

Lucky, I'm retired! :chuckles:

Is there a way to tell when it was imported by the importers mark? T122505 USSR 7.62x54R RGUNS C'VILLE IL 91-30. Thanks I don't know of anyone who has taken the time to note when each "importer" sold the rilfes here in the USA. It might be possible to figure it out but..... For the most p...
