I took another look at it. The main overall stock isn't too bad but definitely used, for example you can see the scratches in the picture above. You can see some scratch marks above. You can also see the non matching handguard which shows little use. Every number I can find on it so far matches, but...

The stock is a little rough in places. But from what I understand every one thats made it over here so far was actually used. As far as the barrel, from what I've seen so far it looks like I could shoot it today.

The scratches were first, the split case was the 11th round I put through this rifle. I used the firing pin tool on both rifles. It should touch the 75 and not touch the 95 right? I've read up on stuck bolts and deburring, I'll definitely do that before I shoot the 42 again.

The one that split came from a box of 20 I got from the sporting goods store with 7.62x54R written in pen on it. It was the first one I fired from that box. My local gun shop has a Czech 98/22 with Turkish markings on the rear sight that I've been eyeballing. I think they're asking $170.
