Re: Deutsches Reich stamped 1905 Izhevsk M91 w/Original Stock

It was very cool to finally get to see her at the range this morning. She looks even better in person & shot extremely well too! Not sure you're going to be able to resist taking her to the range fairly often Lotema! Congrats on a sweet addition to the collection! Thanks TH. It was fun morning ...

Re: Deutsches Reich stamped 1905 Izhevsk M91 w/Original Stock

Wow that is a thing of beauty! The bluing missing the way it is and where doesn't seem intentional. Seems more of what was mentioned earlier, high traffic areas and perspiration. Could have been a soldier that loved cleaning his rifle, a bit too vigorously. Plus, as you stated no marks of arsenal r...

Thanks Bunkysdad, I'm quite happy with it and it'll tide me over until I can find an all-matching, unmodified one!

That's a pretty good price for that clean of an m27. The metal on that looks almost new, very nice!

Re: Deutsches Reich stamped 1905 Izhevsk M91 w/Original Stock

That is a very interesting find! I love the stock and sling hangers. I agree that the font of the buttplate and floorplate SNs match the receiver. Those distinctive "blebs" on the termini of the 3, 5 and 6, and the almost rectangular 6 cinch it for me, though the latter characteristic is ...

Re: Deutsches Reich stamped 1905 Izhevsk M91 w/Original Stock

That is a phenomenal find. Very cool! Pardon my ignorance, but what would make that much of the bluing come off? And it's nice that the bluing is gone and there still no rust. It looks super cool. I love how you can see the impression of the stamping in the wood from the magazine. Who stripped the ...

I really like this one & was happy to hear that you were able to bring her home from the auction. Definitely looks worthy of a Showcase submission to me. Looking forward to seeing her next weekend at the range as well as hearing what people think her story is. Congrats! :Drool1:  Than...

Yup, the Deutsches Reich stamp on the butt stock shows that it would have been captured by the Germans during WWI.

Deutsches Reich stamped 1905 Izhevsk M91 w/Original Stock

A couple weeks ago I saw a post on Armslist for an auction that included what they called a "Russian Mosin-Nagant (Finnish made) 1905". The auction house had one photo of the right side of the rifle but nothing more. It immediately caught my attention though as it had the Deutsches Reich s...

That's a really cool looking dragoon. The wearing of the blue gives it a ton of interesting character.

Re: A new to me Finnish m28-76

I agree on the Armslist cautions zeebill. I've sold to others in another state via Armslist, where I need the money order deposited in the bank before shipping. However, I have never purchased "remotely" (requiring shipping to me) off of Armslist. I'd only do face-to-face buys off of an A...

Re: A new to me Finnish m28-76

Beautiful rifle! One of these is on my long list. I appreciate the trigger description and that certainly is a light pull for a Mosin. The lightest I’ve ever measured on any other standards military configuration Mosin was 4.5 lbs. I’ve ignored Armslist for too long it seems. I found most of the li...

PS I had an inspiration to try and get together to shoot but WV and Washington states are pushing the envelope a bit! :chuckles: :chuckles: Just a little bit! Re: A new to me Finnish m28-76

I bought one off Alsky after saying I had no desire for one he tempted me too much and I bought one. It slugs out at around 308 and after testing all the ammo I have I found that some of my old Yugo ammo is in the high 308+ range so I tried it and got decent results. I don't do well with diopter si...

Very nice. Congrats!! Mine was lacking the front sight but one is on the way. Can't wait to shoot it. It's a 72 date and has the scope base like yours. So YOU got the '72 dated one! :) I'm really happy with it so far and there's a really good chance it'll be the only thing I take to the range for t...
