Re: New and looking for some advice

Since I am new myself, I cannot offer to much advice. But I can tell you that you have come to the right forum. I have been to many forums on Mosin Nagants, and the information here so far has been rock solid. Look forward to the pictures. Welcome.

Re: Forced Matched

Let me see if I understand. If I see an ad, or someone says all matching numbers, that usually means forced matched, unless otherwise stated. Is that right? And if it was a true all matching numbers, that person would probably go out of there way to explain that it is not a forced match, but a true ...

Re: Decocking Procedure Mosin Nagant

I'm sure that your pole is very broken then :beek:   IT is the first i have heard of but it could have something to do with the parts in the bolt or otherwise. My point i want to make is that some people have been spreading this decocking thing around. Happens every now and then. IT IS NO...

Re: Decocking Procedure Mosin Nagant

While bolt handle is vertical, move bolt ONE click over towards the closed bolt position. Then pull trigger. Bolt should close on its own. I guess this is a way to have the the bolt closed, and decocked, without having to dry fire it. I don't see a need to ever really do this. But I was just concern...

Decocking Procedure Mosin Nagant

Quick question. I noticed on my son's MN, the decocking procedure works great. But on mine, I can pull the trigger several times before it will pull the lever down. ( Trigger feels like it is not engaging anything) Everything else seems to be fine. I don't think I will ever need this procedure. But ...

Re: Introduced to MN three weeks ago, already bought my seco

Here are my pics. This is not a rare find. However, the barrel and stock are full of markings. The barrel in not counter bored. And its in great condition. So I am happy. Sorry for the quality of pics. I was not happy they don't show the detail. I did find that if you magnify your monitor 200%, a lo...

Re: Introduced to MN three weeks ago, already bought my seco

Junk Yard Dog- Next time I am in there, I will check. Jayrocka = the store is http://www.ovoutdoors.com/ I did think about keeping the location a secret. But I am a big believer in Karma. So I'm hoping helping you all here may come back to me someday. FYI The Mosin Nagant deal they have going now is...

Introduced to MN three weeks ago, already bought my second.

My son introduced me to these rifles about 3 weeks ago, and I bought my second one yesterday. Tula 1933 Hex. It was a lot more fun picking out my next Mosin Nagant after learning more details about them from all the member posts here. I "plan" on having pics tomorrow, but we will see. I kn...

Re: Top ten items a novice can look for while sorting 91/30s

Thanks to all for the great pointers and advice. As far as the store goes, I was guessing at the numbers. They had about 6 crates on the floor. They could be empty, but I don't believe so. They said they would not open more until some of the already open crates were empty. I believe they had about 4...

Top ten items a novice can look for while sorting 91/30s

Catcracker here. As stated in the intro thread, I am a novice gun owner. The first one being a 1929 Tula. I am retired AF security police, so I have a little experience with weapons. But have never been an owner. My son took me to a gun range/shop, I saw at least 150 Mosin Nagants, and I was hooked....
