Re: Swiss M1911
There was a K31 at Hamburg as well . . . and a Springfield Model 1896 Krag-Jorgenson (yes, 1896). I snatched that one up as I have the Swiss rifles.

1899 Cossack M91
There is already a Cossack rifle on the forum, Martin08's striking 1905. It's in the Showcase with his excellent write-up. There is also a detailed article that references these rifles, here, for any newcomers: http://www.russian-mosin-nagant.com/russia_m1891/index.html Below is another example, a F...

Recent Acquisitions
'Haven't posted anything in a while, so here are two recent acquisitions: a 1926 Tula M91 Dragoon, and (yet another) 1941 VKT M39 Yet another. Collecting Mosin Nagant rifles . . . as my father would say, "He's been touched by a devil that will never let him go." That M39 may have an Austri...

Re: Mosin-Nagant M1891 Izhevsk: Serial numbering and other stamps!
OP, I do not think you are interested in information. It seems to me that you just want your theories validated. Picking and choosing a few individual rifles out of approximately 17,000,000 manufactured to support your general theories is a flawed methodology. You are free to construct as many theor...

Re: K-98's
A few pics. Apologies for the poor quality, but I did these in a hurry with my phone, and the Win 10 photo editor is a bad joke.
Threw a bid at one of the non-rune marked offerings. I have a couple of RCs, so I wasn't about to sink serious money into it.

Re: K-98's
The Steyr rifles manufactured for the SS did not have swastikas on the firing proofs. These do.

Re: Ex-dragoon underbarrel and tang markings/proofs
The Civil War was effectively over in 1921 though some fighting went on in the Far East until 1923. By 1924, Lenin and the Revolution were dead, the Soviet Union was established, and Stalin was consolidating his power. Your ex-Dragoon's receiver was manufactured during the latter time period, so it ...

Re: Antique Finn cap M91, what else can you tell me?
Chatellerault M91s have been bringing $800+, but that's certainly no guarantee. There may have been several people looking at the same time who bid one another up. Still, a Chatellerault will be on the high end of M91 prices. The Deutsches Reich capture stamp on the stock doesn't hurt it's value, ei...

Re: Tula M-91 1930 ?
I suspect that this thread will be deleted, but . . . Stock is two piece pot-bellied Finn replacement. Early Izhevsk marked Konovalov sight (I see a KA?). Finn style replacement sling holders. Looks to be "41" marked. Nice piece. Salty price. Agree with Pahtu. Asking 2x what it's worth, bu...

Re: Hamburg PA Cabela's
Another trip, today. Nine M91/30 refurbs, mostly 1942 and 1943 (one Tula). There was, however a very nice 1939 Izhevsk in a dark, pre-war stock. If it had been $150, I'd have probably picked it up though I have a few already. But at $300? Pass. These were all fresh from the crate, still top-coated w...
