Re: 1933 Finnish capture 91/30

Nice, my first Nagant was a Finn capture, 1929 Dragoon

Re: Help!

The finns only cared about matching the bolt to the barrel. Either on the knob or the flat and not always the whole number but just the last 4 digits. Sometimes during refub they ground off the mag or butt plate numbers. not very often though. Well in that case the bolt was renumbered, to a 5, you ...

Re: Help!

These were sold from Finland to the US for commercial use. The first batch the Finns sold in the 1950s were their oldest and most obsolete. Like the winchester 1895s, Dragoons and the worst condition m1891. The bulk of them came in the late 1980 and 90s and then the last few in the early 2000s Ther...

Re: Help!

Wow, thank you sir, my grandfather was in the Korean War and that's the only place I can think of him getting it, so what your saying is that there is a good chance that this might've been his gun during the Korean War? And maybe that's why he never said a word about it, I can tell you it's been thr...

Re: Original Dragoon???

Worth anything? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk The price quote of 300 to 400ish is pretty accurate. I bought a couple Tula Dragoons around the 400ish price, quite a few years ago which was considered pretty high, but nowadays not a bad price as these can be fairly scarce at times. Last couple y...

Re: New Members, Make your first post here!

In answer to the question about the seller, his comment was all Finnish guns had mismatched serial numbers. And I certainly meant no disrespect showing the gun if it is refinished. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Most Finnish Nagants do, but that's because they were made to, the Finns literally ...

Re: New Members, Make your first post here!

Hi all from the middle of Tennessee. First post so I'll just write what I bought, any and all comments appreciated. It's my sons Christmas present. It's a Westinghouse 1915, it has what I believe are Finnish indicators, but the seller disagreed. It has a boxed SA stamp on left side of serial number...

Re: New Members, Make your first post here!

Hi, after my father passed a few months ago I came into possession of some of his guns, one of which is apparently a Mosin-Nagant. Searched out this forum to learn more about it. Jim P.s. Names Jim btw lol I got mine from my grandfather when he pasted a few years back, one thing you'll find is that...

Re: Help!

It is a Dragoon. Came here to the US from Finland. Looks in good condition so likely went through a light/mild post war refurbishment. Do the numbers match as i see it has the correct solid barrel bands? Carrier was replaced, no serial, the bolt is a bit confusing, I've heard of them being changed ...

Re: Help!

Carrier is Remington, but other than that it's original, the wood is beat, I think it's safe to say it's been used quite a bit (5 notches, not gonna say they're kills, but maybe)

It's a Tula Dragoon, I wanted to make sure it wasn't an Ex-Dragon

Re: Original Dragoon???

It is still good. I found one years ago on auction & bought it. You can see a couple pics of it in my thread below. BTW - My very first Mosin Nagant, some 17 years ago was and is an ex-Dragoon 1929 Tula that was upgraded into a 91-30. I thought I over paid by paying $69.00 at Big 5....... :chuc...

Re: Original Dragoon???

that is an amazing collection, this is my first, handed down to me by my grandfather, and the crazy thing is, no one knew about it or where it came from, it's pretty beat up and has a couple replaced parts on it, but very cool, thanks for all of the insight!

Pahtu.
Thanks! As you can see it has a couple Finn stamps, but it seems all they changed was the measurement on the sight, but it was never upgraded, is it still good?
