Odd place to put the import marking but it sure beats a billboard mark like some rifles got. The rifle is all correct sniper parts, and the shank looks like it has had the scope serial number scrubbed, but with the mount and scope not matching each other or the rifle it is at the very least a snipe...

Coles Distributing never imported a PU Sniper Rifle. Many Standard M91/30's, but not PU's that I ever remember. Miller, Thing that I see as troubling is, no "import marks". I'm assuming this poster is in the USA. Now I know things like that can happen, but it is usually a sign of a problem. Maybe a "Classic" early put together, but even they had import marks. I think it is a "put tog...

I did check no importer at all serial numbers on scope mount do not match the rifle and I can try to get a better shank photo

All parts on rifle are matching or force matched, scope is not clearly to the rifle.

So yesterday I picked up a refurbished 1944 Izshevsk PU sniper with an undoubtedly original scope, mount, and base. No scope number was ever on the barrel shank however it is proof marked with the C in a circle and has a correct stock for a sniper (not hacked after the fact) I guess I wanna know it’...

Believe me it's not legit, but it's your money sir. I agree completely. Fake sniper rifle. No matter how much you want it to be, it never will be real. IF the import marks are under the mount, then ....it is a fake sniper. .......BUT, it doesn't mean that if the import marks are not under the mount...

Just keep looking and in the mean time go to the top of the page and click on the MOSIN SNIPER RIFLE and commit it to memory then hit every auction, gun show and forum sale pages. Then take pictures and ask MT or DOLK again. I honestly think ill pick up this rifle anyways, the mount isnt a crappy a...

It's a fake, legit scope , repop mount, on a 42 -91/30, not an ex-PU, and nothing about it is Romanian. Update, its an early century arms import, imported with the scope mount and put together with a scope. Seems to all be legit parts not paying more then 900 for it.
