Re: Waiting on the AC guy....
What a coincidence. My A/C failed last night about 7:00 PM when the thermostat went blank and no way to control the unit. About 0800 this morning, I called the company who installed the unit and they showed up before noon to install a new thermostat. It will cost me $155 plus labor/service call but ...

Truly sad to hear of his passing. I regret I never meeting him in person. He sure has meant a lot to us on this forum. R.I.P., Darryl.

Re: Hospitalization
Hopefully the surgery will get you back to some semblance of normalcy or close to it. It sounds like you will have a long road to recovery. I have been reading your posts with concern for you and your health. Here's hoping you get well real soon. TJ.

Re: P.38 Pistols
I don't have a P-38 but they sure are nice guns; maybe the best handgun of WWII. I have one Russian capture Luger that has been refinished by the Soviets and all Nazi markings removed. It's probably a Mauser manufacture because of the S42 on the toggle, but the year of manufacture has been removed. ...

Re: BRAMIT Silencer - Pics and Question
The reason to supress a7,62x54R is in the history. The snipers and partisans used it. Here in germany there a lot of people who are not pleased to hear gunfire from a range. The use of a supressor helps to keep them calm. I learned something from your post. As I said, I know little about the sniper...

Re: BRAMIT Silencer - Pics and Question
I admit I don't know anything about this device, but I assume you are loading 7.62x54r trying to achieve subsonic loads for same. As far as your "exact" load data, I think it is a crapshoot and probably experimental at best. Can't believe anyone would try to suppress the 7.62x54r because i...

Re: northeast quake
Apparently, the few quakes we have in the Northeast US are felt over a wide area. I'm not sure the reason or the geology behind this. Thankfully, most are not destructive, but there was one some years ago that did damage to the Washington Monument in D.C.

Re: My first 1903 Springfield (I've wanted one for 20 years)
I do not own a 1903 Springfield, so not in a position to provide first hand advice. However, I have a friend and former coworker who owns several 03 and 03A3 rifles who advises you can buy higher front sights for this condition. You might look at Numrich Gunparts Corporation. https://www.gunpartscor...

Re: Early flat latch Smith and Wesson model 34
That's a beauty of a revolver. I love the old S&W guns. Some of the earlier ones from the 50's may have been on the older I-frame which was also a frame they used for .32 caliber guns. Later guns from the 60's and 70's were on the newer J-frame like the S&W Model 31 in .32 S&W Long you s...

I'm certainly no expert on Finn rifles, but I would take it to the range and shoot it before making any assumptions. These are combat rifles; not target rifles.

I bought this key chain from an EBay seller in Ukraine. It's so nice, I think I'll buy one for my brother.

I would sell it on EBay if you are sure what specific rifle it will fit. That's looks like a quality stock.
