Looks like something was removed from the barrel. It would be normal for them to have been stamped and later scrubbed and refinished. Should be a fine shooter like most Mausers.

Re: Finnish m91 stock markings
The cross cannons with the Z is the stock manufacturer. Heres an example that's on my M91/24 Lotta Rifle. I don't think they have associated a "Letter/Number" to any specific manufacturer. I've seen a L, S, X and an 8. The other letter is probably an inspection mark, the meaning lost to t...

Re: Finn rifle question
Some B Barrels were from Belgium and will have Liege Marks. These tend to be more rare and desirable. Most B Barrels tend to be Finnish made.

Re: WTB m91 cleaning rod (29")
Doesn't help you now, but it took me awhile to find one for my rifle. I found mine on ebay, and it took months before I found one and I jumped on it, as soon as it was listed. 2 of my M91s have original/real cleaning rods, my 3rd one has a reproduction one. I get them often. You may have even bough...

Re: WTB m91 cleaning rod (29")
Thank you for your response! I actually just found one (I think) at RTG... They have Mosin Nagant cleaning rods listed there with knurled heads, and down in the description they say 29 inches. Great price, too. Hopefully what shows up in the mail will be what I'm looking for, and not an incorrect l...

Re: More knife stuff
Congrats. They are addicting. I especially like the 8" Western and Mark II knives. I collect the Westerns, Mark I, Mark II, Case, pretty much most of the WWII knives. Still need a Western L-76, but I have a Western Bowie Bx54 Bushman and single edge L-77. The Western W-31 Parachute knife I may ...

Re: M27-66 - heavy pics
I stand corrected, and this should have been the dead giveaway. The trigger on many 27/66 is TKIV85 they weren't around til 1985. 27/66 was made in 1966. Also Mosins 1917-2017 has the documented serial numbers of original 27/66 rifles. They only went to 320 and are numbered on the side of the barrel...

Re: M28/30 sold for almost $4k
Hate to revive such an old thread, but does anyone have an idea of what the current value would be on a M28/30 RIIHIMÄKI 1938 bolt matching. Condition seems to be all original. Discretely import marked under the barrel. Bore is excellent. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20221110/138f3abc8217b99ad00...

Re: M27-66 - heavy pics
Hate to revive an old thread but didn't want people to compare original 27/66 to pictures shown. I see on another forum it was pointed out that the rifle shown is not an original 27/66 and I believe they are correct. The biggest difference is the trigger. 27/66 has a fully adjustable trigger that co...

Re: Enfield No1 MkV
How can You tell if one is a No. 2. I think mine was made in '46. The model number on the rail. Everyone at the auction including Fat Scotty from Pre-98 thought that it was a serial number. They didn't realize it was the model with the X designating Experimental. I never put my hand down. Won it fo...

Re: WTB: Mosin M91 Stock
I had 8 of them I sold recently. I think I know someone who has one still. Price was $350 with handguard, metal, and cleaning rod. I have a few more coming in but they are an original 1891 with wooden crossbolt, German Captured with the German added brass hangers, and Remington. All complete with me...

Re: Enfield No1 MkV
First is No5 MkI the other is the only 50 made No5 MkII there was also 50 made of a similar type. They were being made for grenade launching. The main difference is internally. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20220416/82674b4f18f0ec32970d5b0d04bb2d3b.jpg https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20220416/c3...

Are the carbines called anything besides Mk V ? I guess Mk 1 No. V would be right for that one. Or no. 1 Mk V. :vconfused: Call it a cool Enfield :vcool: The Carbine is more commonly referred to as LEC MKI or Lee Enfield Carbine I have some pics of mine Sent from my Pixel 4 XL using Tapatalk

Ammo Pouches
Can anyone ID these ammo pouches? They came to me from Finland with 90lbs of Militaria and no one can say for sure what they are. Closest I have gotten to an answer is Russian and that is a Finnish cross cannon ink stamp on the one. There are no markings. Also anyone know for sure what the Anti Airc...
