Re: ******Members please read******
Wow. I hate to read this. He really did put a lot of time into this forum. And, he seemed to be pretty nice and helpful. Sad to hear.

Re: Help needed!
Izhevsk is notorious for having a TON of markings on the barrel and receiver. IDK if this practice followed into the Soviet era; but all/most of the Imperial era Izhevsks that I've seen have a ton of inspection/acceptance markings like your rifle has. These aren't unusual. I know the barrel marking...

Re: What to do with this rifle (possibly m91 SCW)?
It's an SCW. I don't know what to tell you. Replacement parts are pretty expensive. You could try to find good deals on parts and restore it once you have everything. I'd guess you'd likely spend $300+ on a stock, hand guard, and barrel bands. Might find some deals at local auctions or estate sales.

Re: Help needed
It's difficult to piece your rifle together. It could have been a barreled action that somebody used that stock with. Could have been a WW1 captured rifle that was paired with that stock during WW1 or after WW1. I don't know who the stock maker is. Some people know the stock markings of rifles durin...

Re: Enemy at the Gates / Ron Perlman
Given my low opinion of most of Hollywood's " performers", I would not seek many of them out for any reason let alone putting their names on my gear. I don't know this particular actor, what kind of person he might be off camera, hopefully not one of the anti gun, anti America crowd who p...

Picked this up a few years ago from an auction. Already had the sling, muzzle cover, and bayonet. Just took some updated photos recently.

Panshin bayonet
About two or so years ago (time has been FLYING BY), i purchased a nice transitional 91/30 from auction. I've been sparingly buying surplus stuff for a while--buying when the price is good or the item is something I really want. Anyway, a few weeks ago, I found a bayonet for the rifle at another auc...

Re: Mosin French Receiver re-check
Yes, it’s chatellerault Thanks, do you know if there are any other references to how this is confirmed please ? Chatellerault receiver should have a shield stamp on it somewhere. All that I've seen have had smoother finishing work than any other Mosin receiver manufacturers. I know 1894 and 95 had ...

Re: 1895 FN Mauser mystery
Willyj73, that is an amazing 1893 long rifle. I've been collecting south american contract mausers for over 20 years and while I have some rarer pieces, I've never seen one as nice yours. Congrats. It was a very nice rifle. Pristine. I think the stock was lightly sanded at some point (stamps had th...
