I just took the heat gun to where the barrel sits. Had some coming out of it when I first shot it. Not touching anything else with heat. Took it apart and happy to say there is no pitting. Well taking the 91/30 apart for a good cleaning. Took a 20 gauge wire brush to the chamber to hope to get rid of the sticky bolt. Next is to get the heat gun out and get the cosmoline out of the wood.

I took a 20 gauge wire brush to it. Still see alittle in it. Hope it don't make the bolt stick. It's all numbers matching accept the butt plate.

Bought my first Mosin that was straight from the crate. It's a m44. Man I didn't know what a pain it is to get all the cosmoline off. It will be worth it. Hope it's as fun to shoot as my t53.

Got to shoot the m44 today. All I can say is I like shooting both of them. I took the stock off the type 53 cause someone did a bad stain job on it. Think I'm going to use a dark stain.

So far I've only shot the t53. Been working to much and can't wait to shoot the m44. Between the two I only got $280 wrapped up with them. I started my military guns with a m9 and 1911. Now I'm starting with rifles.
