Re: Romanian TTC Tokarev Pistol

I have been looking for one myself. Saw one at $199 at Gander Mtn but it was buffed and refinished so well that the dust cover came out too thin so I passed. I browsed on line and happened to see an offering from SOG at $195 "badly chipped grips". Took the chance and ordered hand select. D...

Re: Looking for an M44 Laminated Stock

That's one clean laminated stock tailgunner67! Hope to have one soon for my M44. My 91/30 laminated stock seems to be a bit darker and shows sign of use. I always use slip on recoil pads when I shoot them.

Re: Looking for an M44 Laminated Stock

Thanks for your suggestion. I was able to hook up with a friend from Canada and was informed that he has one available. You are right stocks for M44 are getting pricey. I was looking at a laminated one from eBay but it is quite heavily molested (4 drilled holes underside presumably for additional sl...

Looking for an M44 Laminated Stock

I recently acquired a russian M44 carbine. Metal and bore is very good however the stock was sanded and refinished (helped with the price though). I have been lurking in the internet for sometime now in search of a laminated stock (original and not refinished) for my carbine but can not snag a site ...

Re: best ammo for 91/30

My 91/30 shoot best (around 2" or better @ 100yds) with 180 grains commercial rounds from S&B or PRVI. It does not like the 150 gns offered by PRVI (my M44 shoot best though with this bullet with same group size at same distance) or my stock of 148 gns surplus light ball. The surplus light ...

Re: Long firing pin on M44

As an experiment I tried swapping cocking piece between my M44 and 9130, both dated 1944. Indeed the firing pin protrusion in the 9130 did not clear 095 slot (tall). I swapped again together as a set with their corresponding firing pin and the result is the same. Noticed though that the bolt head of...

Re: which mosin

I shoot my '44 9130 laminate more now than my '44 M44 carbine. The carbine has an excellent almost like unfired bore (so is the whole of it), shoot groups that hover at 2.5 inches @ 50 yards. The 9130 with dark slightly frosty bore shoot groups less than 2 inches at same yardage. Still figuring out ...

Hi! My name is Sonny. I acquired a soviet M44 November last year that ignited my interest in these rifles. Been lurking on this site since then and got lots of info. I recently acquired a 91/30 and currently tuning it for a scheduled range time. Decided to be a member since I already feel the "...
