Re: New guy seeking orig sniper
Its simple. Dont read about snipers on forums or learn about all the things that makes them the real deal. Just buy one from the couple of places that sell real snipers for $700 plus dollars plus shipping and youre done. Anything else is a crap shoot that offers no guarantee of success. :2cents: ......

Re: scrubbed Peter the Great mark?
Thanks for the point in the right direction zeebill! Good post with Balkan info Good news for me. I placed a bid on this one weeks ago and never though I'd get it based on what the average 91/30 refurb is going for....I am in it for $216 before the shipping. I'll post more pics when I get it. 37.jpg...

scrubbed Peter the Great mark?
Is there an historic reason the Peter the Great mark would be ground off? I know the whole Arisaka mum story but never heard anything about the same type of scrubbing being done on mosins.

Re: Latest acquisition. Any Identification appreciated.
CAI did sell some legit snipers but the vast majority where made up by them. I've read a few dozen posts here that the majority of the early importer marked like mine that were made up by them had the [SA] mark on them. Mine doesnt have that mark...I've also read here that it is not uncommon for th...

Re: Latest acquisition. Any Identification appreciated.
Took it to the range today and sighted it in. Range was crowded and busy. Shoots pretty good. I need to work on it a little bit. Was getting really hot though. Warm day here today.

I bought mine from an online auction in Michigan. The auction house was TERRIBLE. They didnt ship when they said the...

Re: Latest acquisition. Any Identification appreciated.
It is CAI import marked. Im not familiar with these. Can anyone give me a little more history? The only thing that is out of sorts is that the scope number has been scrubbed from what I can see. If you need better pics let me know. My cell phone takes great pictures of everything but mosins... :fac...
