Re: 1931 Izhevsk Dragoon, SCW

Where did I get the idea that SCW's were all 1936-1937, with the possibility of a 1938?

Re: Firing pin question

Bill's right. The oval part of the firing pin goes through the connector they need to be lined up. When the grooves are lined up the firing pin will go through the connector....I think that's what Bill means... The reason I asked was because my spring is squashed flat when the end of my firin...

The left is from a '44 M44 and the right a '43 91/30 sniper bolt.

Firing pin question

When I was reassembling the bolt on a 91/30 I just got I noticed that when I line up the groove in the end of the pin with the grooves cut at the arsenal and the pin is flush with the end of the bolt that the spring is completely depressed. I checked how far the pin protrudes with the gauge and it i...

Re: Found a Hungarian M52 sniper - worth buying?

As an FYI on the 'fair price' part of the OP.... Here is one that sold recently. Bought by and on-site bidder. I bid 800 but with the 20.5% fee plus shipping I had to stop. It went for $850. If you look at the pic it is a BC. hungsnipe1.jpg That one had a mismatched bolt. I was very tempted anyway ...

This sort of begs the question are those pics property of GB? Posting the link should be ok but not the pics. You own the gun. Not the pics. ..

Re: M91/59 stock question

Awesome! Thanks Gents!

As always there are many answers to the same question when it comes to mosins. I like to get the groups consensus before I buy. I appreciate the info.... :D

M91/59 stock question

I've been looking for an M91/59 to add to the family. I read that an M91/59 in an M44 stock is 'atypical'. The last few I've seen for sale however have been in M44 stocks. If you had your choice would you get one in the cut down 91/30 stock or the M44? Thanks.

Re: D mark

Agree its a partial refurb mark. Here is a D mark on a 32 I own, a rounded D, not square. It also has many other Finn traits. Finn traits like the 41 visible on the bolt side above the date? The more I scan the web for 'D's' the more different varieties i find. Here's one that is less rounded. dexa...

D mark

I did some reading around and the D mark was put on by the Finns after capture. At least thats what I read. This one has a D mark but no [SA] anywhere on it. Pretty common I'm guessing. Anyone know what the 6 is? I thought maybe it was a partial stamp of the 3600. There is also a 4 stamp that may be...

Today Classic's status on their M39's is OUT OF STOCK....HUH?! Ten plus boxes are gone?

They sold so many they have to stop selling them and re-group....Pat Burns never had such success!! How is this even possible?

Re: Carbine sling or not?

I think I see where you're going with this...yes technically its a ppsh sling as was posted by redspoon. The seller may have taken it off an M44 so he sold it that way. I think its more likely a mistake calling it a mosin sling and not a deceptive move. He could have easily listed it as a ppsh sling...
