I had the same idea when I got mine, but quickly came to my senses. If I had one that was all cracked and beat up it may be a different story. But original is best imo

I've got a '42 Izhevsk, came with an Izhevsk bolt connector that was cracked. When my new connector came in I was happy to see it was a Tula, apparently not war time since the finish is very nice. So now I've got a Tula bolt. Kind of neat if you ask me. Now I'm itching for more Mosins
