Re: 1938 91/30 round receiver Izhevsk trouble maker
You mentioned some mosins needing tweaking. How exactly does one go about tweaking the interrupter and magazine to stop the rifle from jamming.. I've tried almost everything and still cant get the rifles to feed reliably with clips.

Re: 1931 Tula counter-bored
Counter boring was done to improve the accuracy lost from a worn muzzle.
Counter boring is an improvement, not a detriment.

I cant see all of the pictures you posted for some reason, but the box with diagonal slash on the stock is the arsenal mark for the 1st Main Missile and Artillery Directorate facility located in Balaklava, Ukraine. This was the Soviet facility where your stock was manufactured/refurbished. I say ma...

Re: Ejection issue *update*
These interrupter ejector pieces are actually really quite finicky. As they wear out problems begin to start. A couple of mine had the interrupter spring sticking out like that, to the point where it will be affected by the stock. People recommended shaving some wood off the stock where it comes int...

Re: 1943 Dated M-44 Question...
Seems like a fantastic deal to me. Standard 91-30s are going for 199.99 so to get a 1943 dated M44 and 600 rounds of ammo for 300 seems pretty great.

Re: Original Russian Cleaning Kit/Pouch
Your pouches are post war. It's likely there is a date stamped on the inside of one of the pouches so you can find out the exact date

My Type 38 Carbine does the exact same thing with round nose soft points, but it feeds spitzer rounds just fine.

Hey guys, big thanks for the really fast responses, links and answers. I'm sure yall know how much it helps. As soon as you type in Mosin or anything related into the search about a million results pop up completely clouding what you actually want to see. One thing i had noticed was how many diff p...

I picked up the World at war series on DVD at least 10 years back, it came as a box set, I have seen it for sale since someplace but I don't remember were. Yeah, the world at war is available here. I just picked up a remastered blu ray edition, it's a fantastic series. Sent from my iPhone using Tap...

I've noticed Mosins have pretty much dried up in my area, but I did come upon this 1939 Tula that I had to have. http://images.tapatalk-cdn.com/15/08/12/2c31ce589cf6a5655d37aa11d033c9b4.jpg http://images.tapatalk-cdn.com/15/08/12/a40fadb99150c0baaa743777b38625c2.jpg She has both the concentric circl...

Re: Man, this show "WW2 in Color" on AHC...
World War Two in Colour is hands down the best documentary series on the war. Second place would have to be "The World at War". The sad part is, it's virtually nonexistent on the American market. The only copies of the series I can find online are all sold out of the UK, Australia and New ...

Re: ARISAKA TYPE 99 ADVICE
This is a question I have put to several of the men I bought Japanese rifles from many years ago. The bulk of my Arisaka rifles came from GI's, Marines, and sailors who brought them home, mostly acquired back in the 80's. Most of these captured rifles have matching number bolts, something unlikely ...

ARISAKA TYPE 99 ADVICE
I've always hard a hard time believing the "made too much noise" explanation. I put a repro on mine and while the bolt is closed it does rattle but probably no more than anything else in a soldier's kit. Operating the bolt is a little louder but I have to believe the gunshot would be more...
