1939 m38 in First-Pattern Stock

It has been over three and a half years since I have purchased a gun of any kind. For my 10 year anniversary I bought myself a couple of 91/38s while the wife got a quilting machine. Life, kids, work, and other priorities have gotten in the way. With that said I still every once in a while like to p...

I didn’t see the rest of the pics on imgur before my reply but yours is clearly a nicer specimen and would fetch way more.

Re: Sestroryetsk 91/38 - Value?

I purchased an 1894 Sestroyetsk from another collector for mid 600’s February of last year (I think 650 plus 35 shipping but I can’t find an email with the amount to confirm). Mine does not have extremely clear markings but is better than a lot of them. It is the third 91/38 in on the left in the gr...

Re: Unknown M38

I have a mismatched 1942 m38 with a similar finish. I never really thought of it as parkerized but that totally makes sense now. Mine also has the same wire hangers and no import mark. Mine has a refurb stamp though which makes it different. I definitely wouldn’t say Finnish though I’d lean towards ...

Re: 1895 Ex Cossack 91/38

Yes this sold a day before the other one the guy just took forever to send it. He took a week to drop it off at his dealer (which I don't understand why that was necessary as it was an antique and mailed directly to me) and the dealer took over a week to send after that. It also sold for a little ov...

Re: 1895 Ex Cossack 91/38

The date is 1895. That's what the tang says and knowing that I can easily make out the 5 in person and the 8 and the 1 and can kind of tell it could be a 9.

1895 Ex Cossack 91/38

Just received this nice little carbine in the mail today. It's main flaw is that the markings are partially scrubbed but the KA3 is fully intact and it isn't fully scrubbed so I am happy with it. I knew I wasn't going to find one any cheaper. The stock is in very nice condition with a few interestin...

M91/59 Advice

No way I'd pay $400 for a 1943 91/59. As for what the "last two" sold for on GunBroker, one was bid up by a newbie and the other, only had one bid and started out at $395. Suckers born every second on GunBroker. The rifle you are looking at is worth between $325 and $350. I actually saw o...

Re: M91/59 Advice

The last two 91/59s to sell on gunbroker sold for 405 and 395 plus shipping. Both very nice condition and both 1943. 400 seems to be a reasonable price for both.

Re: What's you're rarest or oddest mosin?

All of my rare mosins are carbines: 1893 and 1894 Chatellerault 91/38s: 2 out of 9 known. 1941 PL marked m38: Marking is partially scrubbed but only one I’ve ever seen. Hungarian M44s instructie: Only one I’ve ever seen...though honestly haven’t searched all that hard trying to find another. Origina...

Re: Any feedback on my M38 would be appreciated!

Congratulations on your first (but not last) Mosin! It looks like an honest refurbished M38 in a postwar replacement M44 laminate stock. I'm cautious about saying never when it comes to Mosins ;) but to the best of my knowledge laminate stocks were not made in the M38 format for simple logistical r...

Re: NEW M38

1931 ? would have been a 91/30 conversion ? before conversion to a m 38. I was told that when the year was worn they would restamp a guested year of manufacture on it. The year is not when any conversion was done. Sent from my SM-N950U using Tapatalk A N.E.W. would have been 1917 ( or 1915), then i...

NEW M38

Came across something I had never seen before and I bought it. It was advertised as a NEW 91/38 and that alone would have made it a real gem. After further discussion and inspection it turns out it is a Soviet converted NEW m91 into an m38. I had seen several m91s converted to m44s but never one int...

It’s a Romanian sks sling with dog collars added. It’s pretty desirable for someone with a Romanian SKS as they are kind of hard to come by.

Re: I.D. 91/38

What I think is great is that they used old barrels but installed the wide-based M44 front sight base on them. Rather unique just due to that in my opinion. They all used to have bayonets as well which is evident when you look closely at the barrels. Plus almost all of them are in stocks with a bay...

Re: I.D. 91/38

It’s a fantastic example in a Czech made stock. Cossack marked ones are quite valuable. I’d place a value of around 1000 on it (conservatively). I wouldn’t blink twice spending that if I I saw it in a store.
