Re: Bought 2 new mosins, have a dilemma

Is the 700 a bdl or adl? Wood stock? Whats the year of production? Is there any family tie to it (i.e heirloom)? If its just a synthetic stock with no special tie I would let it go over the Mosins. But you are asking on a MN forum. I imagine on a Remmy forum you would be told to sell one of the &quo...

You can check it on various serial number checkers. Mine came back October 43. I imagine its very close at least.

:soapbox: Looks good to me . If you like it buy it. I don't put a price on things if I like them. That is a nice Mosin. Judi and her Mosin's ;mywink; Im the same way. If I want it, money is not the issue. I am not wealthy by an stretch but if I can make it happen it happens. Same goes for my wifes ...

I just can't think of any reason to own a Garand!! You are on a site where history is valued as much if not more than utility and you cant think of a reason to own a Garand? Did you miss WW2 in History class? Its worth owning simply because Patton called it "the greatest battle implement ever ...

Okay, thanks.. any idea about the box?
it looks like the box is a refurb mark. May have been crudely stamped but usually has a line down the middle.

All about bore on this one. Everything else looks great on it. If its got a good bore, and the price seems fair, pull the trigger so to speak.

nice one. Like the stock markings. Thanks! It is not like my others... It seems Ivan went nuts with the Izhevsk stamp on this one. The only nonmatching part is the bolt (rings true for a bringback from what I have read, seperated bolts from rifles in piles, and trophy hunters got one from eacj pile...

I sure wish they would get their act together. Used to be a good place. Used guns on racks this side of the counter, reasonable deals, friendly and adequately staffed.
What happened?
The real question is... How hard is that?

I would say it was the only gun at Gander Mountain that day that you would have gained money on walking out with. Except maybe that MO.

My first Mosin I had very little information and pulled the trigger on one based on the condition of the stock. I have a feeling in that room was a gem and I left with a round 38 Izhevsk. Life goes on.

They remodeled my local gander also. They had 2 crates on the floor i got to look through. Then a salesman asked if i had seen the crate behind the counter and the ones in the rack. He let me come behind the counter and dig through them. Saw one sa marked and a mo double date. Ended up buying a 35 ...
