Re: Swiss K31 arrived yesterday!!
Jbob, SOG has the Bayonets for around 50.00. Get your C&R into them so you can see what they have to offer. Poly, Yes !! looks like a paragraph of laser stenciling on top of the receiver. It's just not right :-(. Titanium: I'll let you know how it shoots in a few days. I only have 20 rounds of n...

Re: Swiss K31 arrived yesterday!!
I bought the rifle from SOG and it came with the sling. I did pay $50 extra for the bayonet and a brass muzzle cap. I'm going to order a Swiss cleaning kit just so I have it. I want to have an original cleaning kit for all my milsurp rifles. So far I do have one for each of them. I also need a leath...

Re: Swiss K31 arrived yesterday!!
Yep it's there. I photo copied it and then put it back. It's been safe there for many years, I expect it will be safe there for many more

Re: New to me Type 99 (pic heavy)
You found yourself a pretty nice Type 99 looks like a Toyo Kogyo though hard to tell from the pic, can't tell what series. How about a close up of the arsenal mark and kana? The bayonet, pretty cool you have one that's listed as unknown company under Kokura supervision . Nice finds  its a...

Re: Arisaka Type 99 31st series
Nice find!! I just got my first Type 99. 31st series Toyo Kogyo missing dust cover, monopod, rear sight wings, and cleaning rod. I'm doing as much research as I can to learn more about these rifles. I know next to nothing about them. Dolk, do you know any good web sites for info on these rifles? So ...

Then there is this... Ugly as sin, but if it keep people buying, then bring it. http://www.foxnews.com/us/2014/02/16/cosmetic-tweaks-to-ar-15-thwart-new-york-ban-on-assault-rifles/ Eh it kind of grows on ya. I have a Stag Arms model 2 with Thordsen FRS-15 stock just like the gun shown in that artic...

Re: Finn Rifle
Thank you guys. I'll pass that along to my friend. I'm sure after I get all the metal oiled up and wood cleaned with lemon oil, it will end up back in his safe never to see day light until I offer to take care of it again. He really does not take care of any of his guns. I offered to do this for him...

Finn Rifle
Hi Folks, I'm helping a buddy of mine out with this firearms collection. Basically I am just cleaning his rifles since he hasn't touched them in over 20 years. Well he has a Finn Mosin that I would like a little help with if you all could. I'm not sure what model it is, just know it's a Finn. It's b...

Re: How many guns is sufficent? and how many calibers?
Matt, Where in NY are you located. The shop owners I have chatted with on this subject won't allow transfers. You have to buy it directly from them. I am looking for someone who will do it. I have no issue being charged a reasonable fee for handling and such, but I will not be gouged. ' Scott

Re: How many guns is sufficent? and how many calibers?
I started with 1 91/30 about 6 months ago, Now I have 10 rifles shooting 6 different calibers. 7.62x54r, 7.62x39, 7.92x57 (8mm Mauser), 30-06, .223/5.56 nato, 5.45x39. Since I live in NY and my supply line of cheap ammo has been effectively cut off as of tomorrow 1/15/14, I stocked up alittle. I hav...

Re: Yugo Failure to Cycle Properly
Just a quick note. Did you make sure the gas valve is in semi auto position and not in grenade position? I know it sounds like a no brainer but I have seen it twice at my local range. Semi is the button to the right holding the grenade sight down, straight up is grenade position and the gun will not...
