Re: AG-42B problems...

I took the dust cover off and springs. There is no live round in the chamber I cocked the rifle by pushing the hammer back and tried firing it before using the brass rod on it. I believe the chamber is empty. I tried hitting the brass rod with a hammer with no results. When I had the rod in muzzle t...

AG-42B problems...

Hello all. I’m working on a friend’s AG-42B with a locked up bolt. The bolt is in the closed position. I’m at an impasse on this rifle. I’ve tapped on the bolt face thru the muzzle with a brass rod and on the bottom side of the bolt with a brass punch and it will not unlock. Anyone else have problem...

Re: First Mosin, how did I do?

Did anyone notice that this rifle barrel was an Imperial Tula make?

Re: Wartime Special

The medals are original. They just look nice with the rifle.

I have not shot it nor will I. I have designated shooters:) It will probably fire fine.

Ok I'm in the dark, what new book are you guys referring to?

Wartime Special

Hello all. I found an odd ball refurb in my recent travels. I was reluctant to buy it, since the prices on these are so high, but I couldn't pass up such a weird 91/30. Anyways, the rifle is made in 1942 with NO ARSENAL marks. One would assume it's a standard wartime Izhevsk, but no evidence present...

Re: 1919 Tula M91

Super find. Looks like the "script" style.

No worries about the stamp condition. My 1919 Tula Finn capture has very light stamp impressions like yours.

Awesome rifle.

Sweet rifle I found one identical to it last year except for the red letter. DDR marked refurbs have that extra cool factor.

I'll buy your 41' Tula M91/30 if you decide to. I have two 41' SVT-40s. They are not uncommon just harder to find. I don't know what other mosins you have, but I believe that the 41' Tula would be the jewel of your collection. As far as refurbs go.

Re: 1916 ex-Dragoon hex with 42 Tula barrel

To my memory I thought the Soviets discontinued serial numbers without letter prefixes at some point before the Patriotic War. This rifle has a very high serial.

Very neat recycled receiver rifle. The Czar bails out Uncle Joe again. Your rifle is from the Izhevsk plant not Tula. Again, cool rifle!!

Looks good. You need about 10 more of those if you continue to have this disease. The only thing I'd worry about is a thief breaking in and instantly having a field day with your nice collection.

It was a blast to shoot. The recoil was not as much as I had expected. Shame the ammo is pricey for these.

Just saw the question JYD. It performed well enough. I'm more of a rifle marksman. Tried double action, it was pleasant on my trigger finger. I shot a few rounds thru her. Nothing to brag about.

Re: All you guys with digital calipers

Taper from bayonet wear maybe, .006" no big deal on a rifle barrel. I imagine in the arsenal they had some sort of mechanized, dedicated automatic lathe setup to turn the profiles. It's be neat to see the tooling used for mass production on these. It's hard to believe what machinists did back i...
