Re: Picked up a norinco.
Yeah real nice. I have the one that takes the AK mags but still need to get one of those. I almost had one from my gun shop but when they ran the numbers it came back as wanted in a homicide case in CA :big shock: The po po was there real soon to pick that one up along with the copy of the pre owner...

I have heard some say to not shoot hot 8mm through these 1893's but think how many rounds of hot Turk 8mm has been safely shot through these. But make sure you do as the Boss says

Re: FN49, should I buy?
For an 8mm semiautomatic I like my Hakims better. My FN49 is kinda finicky but the Hakims will eat anything. They are usually cheaper too and I like the removable mag.

Re: My first Mosin Nagant
Very nice solid looking first Mosin! Do you have a stash of ammo yet for it? Your going to want to get a case of Russian for it too. Just be sure to wash the salts out after every shoot.

Re: FN49, should I buy?
I wonder, Did we ever find out what the other FN in PA was? Some of the other verities can bring big bucks. If the bore is all rusty on the 8mm the gas system should be looked at too.
