Re: Broke my black powder cherry

I felt the same way about building a rifle. I always wanted to build one but also knew that such things, even the kits, are not for beginners. Then I found Kiblers Long Rifles (https://kiblerslongrifles.com/). I've built one already and have had another one in the box for over a year that I haven't...

Re: 1944 91/30

The OP called it a sniper barrel which implies that it was the barrel of a sniper which it was not. If he had used sniper grade barrel, there would be no confusion. Yeah you have to be concise anymore. And yes, this is the first time I've seen Imgur pics that can be scrolled here vs. being forced to...

Re: 1944 91/30

First let's dispel with the sniper discussion about this rifle. It is not a sniper or an ex sniper unless you can show pictures of the left side of the receiver and barrel shank. What information are you looking for as it relates to a 1944 Izhevsk? To tell you the truth, other then production number...

Re: 1944 91/30

Tula was the only one who marked CH on the barrel shank. Izhevsk did not. You can only tell on an Izhevsk if there are repaired scope mount holes or a scope serial number on the left side of the barrel shank or a crossed out number in that location. From what I can tell from the picture above, this ...

What makes you think that this is a sniper barrel? I see nothing that would indicate this.

Re: Gen 1 Mosin? Pawn shop find from a totally uninformed buyer

Worth $250 any day of the week. This is a very unusual bird for sure. No sling slots and no stock bolt so it never made it back the the upgrades. And it is very uncommon to find one with the flat rear sights. I think if you look hard enough you can find the swivel for the magazine. I believe this sw...

Now that I see the shole gun, I really think it looks fine... I wouldn't do anything to it.

Re: m91 stock restoration

Doesn't look like it has been sprayed but you know better than I. I've seen much worse. I have had success cutting shiny lacquer down with steel wool. This doesn't remove the finish. It only dulls the shine. You could use a scraper to remove that finish and it wouldn't remove any of the original col...

I wouldn't be surprised if any of these things are happening. You really have to be careful anymore... It's almost like buying or selling there doesn't make much sense anymore. Lots of newbie buyers and sellers who have no idea what they are buying or selling and other sellers who are just gouging t...

Re: Request for leave

Sounds like a power supply to me. How do you know it is not the power supply that is the issue? Did you check the voltages of the wires coming out of it? Could be a mother board or the CPU however. It's pretty difficult to diagnose these things. Even a $300 computer should not crash and burn like th...

Re: Request for leave

The best thing to do is to fix your PC... With your old PC if this is what you are left with, then it might be a good idea to replace your C:\ drive with an SSD. You can get software to clone your current drive to the new one. For an older PC, depending on how old it really is, a change to a solid s...

Re: Gun show.......Not!

Anyone, any age has to have a CC permit or a gun purchase permit from their Sherrif to buy a handgun. If they don't have either, it's an illegal sale. Long guns just require an ID from 21+ buyers. Not so all the time at least in Michigan. I needed no Permit to Purchase and purchased a handgun from ...

Re: Mosin PU Codes

"did not have the Circle C nor one of the documented prefix codes before the rifle serial number" Never heard of that... There's a lot more to consider when trying to determine of the rifle is an authentic sniper. I have no idea what a PU Code is. And what does "having an authentic sc...

Re: Mosin Nagant bolt won’t close

When you experience difficulty closing the bolt has the rim of the cartridge seated in the bolt face under the extractor? If not, then this could be your problem... As mentioned... It might be a good idea to test with another bolt or, at least, another bolt head. I'd pretty much doubt there is a hea...

We recently had a show. Lots of Milsurps with some decent prices... But, I took a trade and bought a 1978 Colt MkIII TRooper in .357. Kind of getting into the modern revolver world now.

Re: Yet another PU Sniper authentication check

When I refer to refurbished stock, it's pretty much the same as saying a new or replacement stock. It's really hard to say. As far as I know The 1st Grau Arsenal in Balakleya, Ukraine was the only refurbishment center to stamp the stocks. Their stamp is a square with a diagonal line from bottom left...
