Re: Last day to comment on ATF proposal for pistol braces
Since neither one was invented when that law was written, maybe the law needs to be revised. They make a gun fire like a machine gun, I don't see the need for either for hunting or self defense. Machine guns have one purpose, for war, to kill as many enemy as possible before they kill you. I would ...

Re: Last day to comment on ATF proposal for pistol braces
The ATF is just following the "process". They have no intention other than to ban these things. And they will. It doesn't matter if 100% of the responses were supporting these "braces". The government is communist now. And really, if I had one of these pistols ("pistol"...

Re: No further importation of surplus ammo to the U.S.?
So is Tula ammo. But from what I am hearing all ammo imports from Russia have not been stopped. Read it and weep https://www.nraila.org/articles/20210822/biden-administration-bans-importation-of-russian-ammunition. Of course this is bull shit and since when can the State Department initiate "sa...

Re: Morons in a Pharmacy
For the time being try washing your mouth with salt water a couple times per day... Even at Wal-Mart the pharmacy people will help out... Wonder what would happen at your pharmacy if you asked for hydroxychloroquine? They'd probably have you arrested... Did you try calling your dentist and ask that ...

Re: Debt Free......
Congrats! I've been debt free for 14 years. That was the plan before we retired. It makes living on a fixed income very manageable... And, it takes the worry out of the multiple bubbles that are about to pop. The housing market is about to take another dive like in 2008 but will be much worse I think.

Re: Cannot find upper follower spring
Well, if you want this spring, you'll have to suck it up and buy the assembly. I'm sure that lots of us have complete magazines but we wouldn't be open to selling the parts piece meal. You are not going to find the spring itself for sale unless someone wants to ravage assemblies or magazine they hav...

Re: Help me identify my Mosin Nagant 91/30
There should be a crossed out scope s/n on the left side of the receiver for an Izhevsk sniper. The stock cuts for the mount looks too sharp and too new to me also. I suspect that steelbuttplate is on to something about Century... Nice gun though but it's likely not an original sniper.

Re: My Ishevsk 91/30
It wouldn't have an import mark if imported prior to 1968 which is possible. I only think SCW because of the shank date. Russia sent a ton of rifles to the Republican forces in Spain including a lot of new 1936 and 1937 rifles. There is always a chance that this rifle was used in the Balkans and mad...

Solid refurbed 5-line Tula. Getting more difficult to find these anymore. ATI must have spent many hours deliberating on how to come up with that stamping ![facepalm 2 :facepalm2:](./images/smilies/facepalm2.gif)

Re: Why the Mosin Nagant?
It wasn't long after my first Mosin that I began to realize and immense variations of this gun not only by type but from all the changes and variations and improvements since the Russians finally decided to move away from the black powder era in the 1880's. I am still surprised sometimes about seein...

Re: What is this booklet?
These booklets were included with all rifles sourced from Molot by the importers. PW ARMS imported the bulk of them. This appears to be a Tulsk'y. Same thing here. All the stampings were required by Russia to export them. Basically these give some basic information on the rifles and the title, as I ...

Re: Looking to buy an early m91/30 stock!
If you can find a pre war stock in good condition, you won't like the price. That goes for the post war stocks too. You'll find stocks on eBay but usually they are not complete (no handguard, barrel bands no cleaning rods and sometimes no stock bolt or barrel band retaining springs) but they are ask...

Re: How much is a mint barrel worth?
Have you even shot the rifle? Minty bore really doesn't mean much. I remember selling a premo MO with a bore that looked never shot to one of the forum members here. And he was a range rat and a good shot. He eventually sold the rifle because it just wouldn't print. I was shocked. On the other side ...

Re: determining value of your Mosen.
These rifles are worth what someone is willing to pay for them. Anymore, it's kind of difficult to respond with anything other than a price range. Check out places like GunBroker "sold rifles" to determine the general value of these rifles. But value, in most cases, is determined by a lot ...

Re: My Ishevsk 91/30
My first thought would be that this is a Spanish Civil War rifle. Although, if it is, it is in remarkable condition. It almost looks like the rifles was "restored". It might help if you attach the bayonet when you shoot it. That said, to shoot so low at such a short distance would indicate...
