Re: 2 roll stamped on 1941 SAKO M39 barrel
I don't know about that... I had an M-39 with this stamping on the shank and on the butt stock. Didn't seem inferior to me. And, really, it's hard for me to believe that the Finns would label a rifle inferior yet still issue it...

Re: M91 Carcano Cavalry Carbine. NY legal?
The 2 shops are within 2 miles of each other. The shop I prefer has a nicer owner, but he's afraid of the liability.. The NY SAFE act is kind of confusing to me. I just know there are other NY'ers here. As far as C&R in NY, I would, but it still has to ship to an FFL in NY, there is just no tra...

Re: M91 Carcano Cavalry Carbine. NY legal?
Sounds like you need another FFL or to move out of that state. You may consider getting a C&R License also. I don't understand the Carcano question at all. If you want to know the laws of your state I suggest you look them up. How are we to know? Quite frankly I can't see a Carcano being illegal...

Bad News...
I was shocked to see this video last night https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OGRbRbirb2s&t=1469s This may be the end of BP shooting in the US. I suppose that if I had known about this earlier I would have bought some more. But, as of today, no one has any including Graf's house powder. The panic b...

Re: Stuff you find in pockets!
I remember coming home on special leave from Vietnam. I traveled in utilities with a field jacket. After I got home I found a live .50 caliber round in my coat pocket

Re: Re: Hungarian M44
This sounds like one of those that came out of Cugir, Romania. I really like their "spartan" refurbishments of these rifles. Nothing too fancy, mostly headspacing. It's entirely possible that the cocking piece was Izhevsk as well. Are the other parts of the bolt Hungarian? Other than the b...

Re: Refurbishment article - How they were refurbished
I would agree in almost all cases. But, I'd need to be convinced that many of the 1948 M-44's that I have seen and owned were not new guns.

Re: Gun Racks....
I thought I recognized these too... These were Ted Derryberry's plans from 7.62x54r website.. Except he didn't put the backs on them. And he didn't use nails as connecters... I had a ton of those racks before I sold my collection. I still have a few left...

Re: mauser sight
The 1916 had several rear sight configurations. So, I can't be sure. If you have a 1916, you can always try to fit it and see what happens. But I don't think they are interchangeable.. If they even fit, they probably wouldn't work too well. One is configured for a long rifle and the other one for a ...

Re: mauser sight
If this is indeed an 1893 Spanish Mauser, Liberty Tree might have the sight ladder but not the spring. That might be a little difficult to find. I didn't see a spring installed in your pictures. Of course, you must be absolutely sure what this rifle is before you try and source parts for it.

Re: Taylor & Co. Uberti Gunfighter
Does the Taylor pistol have 4-click cocking? It’s more like 3 clicks Two of my Uberti's are like this. They are Cattlemen II versions - the latest they are manufacturing. My original Cattlemen with the short barrel had 4 clicks as the original Colts did. I really like that Blackhawk though :) You c...

Re: Taylor & Co. Uberti Gunfighter
Very nice    I've got three Uberti's - one in each of the barrel lengths. I really like this one from Taylors and the grip. The Uberti grips are highly polished and tend to slip when you shoot them. I've been thinking about removing the finish on them. I load for mine t...

Re: Last day to comment on ATF proposal for pistol braces
Since neither one was invented when that law was written, maybe the law needs to be revised. They make a gun fire like a machine gun, I don't see the need for either for hunting or self defense. Machine guns have one purpose, for war, to kill as many enemy as possible before they kill you. I would ...
