Re: Classic grade Bs
Most of my attention was on the receivers, but just from handling I would agree and say they were mostly wartime and the minority being pre-war stocks

J Stevens 87A
picked this guy up for $10, was rusted as hell and bolt didnt operate. A few hours with lots of oil, numberous solvents and a few copper brushes led to its current state. A great shooter and sweet looking oddity. Whether you call it a 87, a gill gun or a click-clack; it cost $10, goes boom and is a ...

Retiring the Makarov for another day
Gonna retire my Baikal .380 Mak as my everyday carry gun, moving on to something bigger (in one way) and more modern. Introducing my new Springfield XDS chambered in 45ACP. great shooter, pearce pinky extension isnt a necessity but it helps. I LOVE THIS THING, and I think its handsome

Re: What's Your Best Purchase Of 2013?

Remington Repeating Shotgun and John Pedersen
Picked up a Pre-Model 10 designation Remington Arms Co. repeating shotgun. Bottom load and eject, takedown model! Got it off of an older gentleman for $65 bucks, thought it was really cool. A little bit of time with some oil and a copper brush and it has a beautiful patina! If you do not know alread...

Re: 1944 Tikka M91/30
I paid $400 cash for a 1943 all matching non-rebuild 1943 Colt M1911A1 in about 99% condition. I wouldve given more, but that is what he wanted. The magazine even had 43' headstamped 45acp ball in it. All the tools are available to properly research these firearms, or a least get a ballpark value. I...

Re: New Savage 93R17
my goal is to shoot clothes pins at 100 yards, so yes indeed the hubble was necessary. A friend of mine has a 20x on his for quite literal pin point accuracy

Re: 3rd. Bought a 17HMR
Anything out of the ordinary?
The "0" on the round part of the receiver interested me and so did the stamp that looks like a "4", the 2 in a circle and the 2 on the soviet crest intrigued me as well.

So I bought a Savage 93R17 from a buddy for $140, he knew that i liked "that old stuff" so he threw in a free Mosin with the deal. A '42 Izhevsk 91/30 which has a few interesting stamps which i will post later ![thumbsup ](./images/smilies/thumbsup.gif)

Re: How many Finn captured M44s were there?
I think racer was wondering about Finn m44s to get an idea on the commonality of extra parts the Finns might have at hand, a little insight on how a m44 stock spliced into a 91/30 might come about, and how common or rare such an occurrence may be. At least thats how i took it ![Confused :?](./images/smilies/icon_e_confused.gif)

Re: What was your first?
Got my first Mosin when I was 22, shortly a full year ago :chuckles: :chuckles: :chuckles: A gentleman who frequented the gunsshop/indoor range i work at brought a bunch of stuff in on consignment(vepr AK, mini 14, ptr91 etc). I happened to ask him if he had anything else (older) that he would sell....
