Re: M38 Manufactured in 1939 Value

Thanks, Racerguy00, I decided not to take the chance with the auction company and keep it along with a few others. If I decide to sell, it will be on my terms. I just figured I would sell off about half of my collection and only keep the more valuable rifles and handguns. The guys on the forum have ...

Re: Is This a WW2 Remington Contract Receiver on My Finn 91

Thanks Mike!
I do believe it is a circle "R" on the tang, unfortunately my phone camera doesn't take that great of a close up picture. I saw the pictures of your Finnish M91/24. Very nice rifle, we do get lucky and find gems out there every once in a while.

Sorry, it should have been WW1 Remington Contract, not WW2.

Is This a WW2 Remington Contract Receiver on My Finn 91

Hello Everyone,
Can anyone provide their expertise and tell me if this is a Remington Contract Receiver on my Finnish 91. This was my first Milsurp I purchased a long time ago.
Thank you!

Re: M38 Manufactured in 1939 Value

Junk Yard Dog, Thank you for your thoughts on the rifle's worth. Until recently I forgot it was a first year of production. I'm going to take your advice and remove it from the list. I also have a Finnish 91, which actually was my first Milsurp I purchased. I believe I'm going to also keep it after ...

M38 Manufactured in 1939 Value

Hello Everyone, I posted this rifle recently just for viewing. I'm now wondering if I should ship it off to auction or not. I believe there was only around 34,508 produced in 1939. All numbers Match except the mag well floor plate is definitely forced matched. I would appreciate your thoughts of its...

Re: M91/30 PE, Percentage Correct or Importer Cobbled

Thanks for the correction, not sure where I came up with PE. Kinda what I thought, like I said the price was right back them. I did strip the varnish off the stock and refinished it. Thanks for your input.

M91/30 PE, Percentage Correct or Importer Cobbled

Good morning, everyone! I picked this Mosin up back in 2008 because I wanted a PE Sniper and S.O.G. was selling them for a decent price. I've always doubted the correctness but really didn't care that much due to the price. Now I'm wondering how correct the rifle really is, I believe I can see the s...

I was able to fingernail the excess paint off below the date on the left side, and nothing was underneath.

Re: M44 Manufactured in 1943 Trials Rifle

Thank you each for your response, this rifle and my 1917 which I posted are staying in my collection, Unfortunately, I'm paring down my collection because I'm getting up there in age. The ones I'm selling off are another M44 which is matching and has a 1944 date, nearly identical as this one, a nice...

Re: Requsting Help Identifying two rifles and one bolt

Good afternoon Raceguy00,
I'll post the 1917 first, then the M44. It may be possible that the numbers could be forced matched, but I'm not sure. Under the tang of the 1917 It's hard to read but it looks like 1917 with an Izhevsk bow & arrow. Under the tang of the M44 it is marked 1943.

Re: Requsting Help Identifying two rifles and one bolt

Thank you WillyJ.' Unfortunately, I'm starting to sell off some of my collection since I'm getting older and want to make sure I describe them correctly. I plan on only keeping a M44 all matching, manufactured in 1943 as a Trials Rifle, a 1917 all matching 91/30 with a matching bayonet and a PU Snip...

Requsting Help Identifying two rifles and one bolt

Good afternoon everyone, the first Rifle is a M91/30 Double Date 1922/53 and I'm not sure if the receiver is a Tula or not, barrel is more likely a Izhevsk (6 Pic's) The second Rifle is a M91/30 Tula 1927. I just wanted to make sure it wasn't a Pre 1928 Soviet 91 or a Dragoon. (3 pic's) The third is...
