Saw one on a Finnish rifle at a LGS was hoping to find one.

I believe it's the same head on a M39 cleaning rod, just the length of a early Mosin Nagant cleaning rod.

Yes sir, a gas check is recommend heavily to help with prevent bullet deformity and leading in the barrel.

I have an front barrel band for a early Mosin that lost its screw at one point and I was hoping to be able to fix it as I would hate to just give up on it.

I was curious if anyone out there was able to find a solution to this problem and hoping its not just a lost cause.

If it has any Russian marks on it, then a walnut stock would not be the only stock it could be in. Fact is, it is more likely to be in a Russian stock (if it has Russian marks).
