Re: Ukranian civilian sales mosin
I would have blamed it on Bubba, but a Ukranian Bubba is still a Bubba, shame they had to alter them. I wonder how many of them are being employed against the Russians today.

Re: Ukranian civilian sales mosin
I haven't heard of these before. Classic has been known to make stuff up themselves like back when they were chrome plating Mosins.

Re: Well folks, tomorrow is Memorial day again.
I keep them in my thoughts every day, I am surrounded by the relics of the wars so it's not likely I will forget those who gave all anytime soon.

Oh yea, on any given day I forget more than I remember, what the hell were we talking about again? Who? I blame Steve, that's my answer/story and I'm sticking to it. Now where were we going? MacDonalds, get me a big Mac and fries, why is it dark out at lunchtime? who am I? Who are you? What...

Re: New roof going on today
Down there I would take a page out of the middle ages and build with stone with walls five feet thick. The high water table probably precludes a dungeon, but you can't have everything.

Re: M1 Garand Review...........Post Your M1 Garands here!!!!
Back in 1991 I picked up a M1 Garand from the DCM for about $95.00 plus shipping. I've only fired about two 8 round clips through the rifle after I first received it. I haven't fired it since. There is a stamp on the barrel in the chamber area "S A 7-41". I most likely won't fire it again...

Darryls son Adam has informed me that his father passed peacefully and without pain after suffering a sudden heart attack. Darryl was instrumental in acquiring this board ...

Re: Help needed!
That would have been done by any of the non Russian users of these rifles, as nobody but the Russians used the Arshins system of measure. Even they didn't in the communist era.

Re: Help needed!
These rifles are covered with small markings, the older they are the more markings there will be. They indicate something was inspected by someone at some point in the rifles history from when it was new, and again each time it was upgraded, or repaired, given a refurbishment. The letters would be a...

Leave it be until you stumble across a stock that it would look good in. Might take years, even decades.

Re: 1939 mosin 91 30
It does have the classic look of a post WW2 Soviet refurbished rifle. In the decades after the war the Soviets refurbished their Great Patriotic War rifles as well as captured German weapons and stashed them away to arm the people in the event of war with the west as well as supplying them to anti w...

Re: Help Identifying possible M91/30
It's a typical Soviet post WW2 refurbished 1943 M91/30. These will have a mix of parts from any year Mosin, parts were kept in service and used during refurbs for as long as they stayed in spec. This is normal for any refurb Soviet Mosin or Finn used captured Soviet weapon. The pin is there to stren...
