Re: Matching scope and reciever? Is this correct
As said, the stock is not good. The scope is a refurbished SVT 38/40, so at least in production it predates the rifle. If calibrated for the 91/30 it will have “CB” stamped on the dials. The mount is also mismatched, but looks original. The ‘44 Izhevsk rifle looks good to me. In today’s market, not ...

Re: can you identify my mosin please?
Most has been said about it already, but I definitely like the rifle. Seems to be legit. Progress scope with refurb mark and force matched (electro pencil) original PU mount. Wherever is was refurbished, they didn’t bother adding the scope number on the receiver. The stock has had a good deal of san...

Re: Non import marked Mosin Sniper
Very cool looking Tula!
Can’t tell the scope maker, only that it was refurbished in ‘53.
Since the receiver also has a refurb mark, the scope and rifle might have been together for quite some time!

Re: Mosin Sniper #2
Very nice indeed! Good looking Progress scope as well.
Looks like a nice arsenal refurbished example with the added/changed scope serial number.
I guess someone wanted to stop the hand guard from rattling?

Re: Strange 1891/30 PU Find
I agree with Darryl, a very nicely arsenal mated sniper rifle! Yes, PW Arms wanted to make a name for themselves all over the gun!! I'm the lucky owner of a '44 Izhevsk PU sniper from an early batch from Molot/IO Inc. IO has it etched discretely on the bottom of the fore end of the barrel. The Molot...

Re: Help needed please to verify PU scope
Agree with Ratnik, if it was calibrated for the 91/30 it would have "CB" stamped on the dials. I believe the dead giveaway for identifying an SVT scope is the thicker barrel at the rear. later PUs have straight (same diameter) barrels...

Re: Help on authenticity of ‘44 PU
Looks like a good one to me! On the barrel shank, above left (or fwd) of where the scope SN used to be, is the "U" stamp (looks like "y"). On a normal infantry weapon it would be where the scope number would be. So that's a first good indicator. A 1944 date is also good for an Iz...

Re: New Members, Make your first post here!
Hello everyone, I'm Jerry and I stumbled onto the site "by accident" during a search on PU scopes..... So I decided to join since I'm heavily into WW2 "stuff". Amongst other things I do own a '44 (Izhevsk) Mosin-Nagant PU sniper which I love to shoot! Also have things like a '66 ...
