Norinco Side Rail Q&A
I just picked up a 1980 Never Fired Norinco. Something I've never seen before is the rail mounted to the reciever (not the cover) and the stock is notched for it. Looks like it may be a 3/8" dovetail but I am not very familiar with these. Can anybody verify this? Also any good/cheap mounts out for this?

Re: Norinco Side Rail Q&A
Sounds like what your describing is a Cowboy Companion, Sharpshooter or a Farmers Friend model. As far as I know there are no mounts to fit those other than the ones made specifically for them. I believe Navy Arms imported them years ago, possibly one or two others may have also imported them.
Please post some clear photos and measurements for a more positive I.D., as there were a few designs.
