Reminds me of the Blood Rifle, another 1941 SAKO P marked rifle, but in a regular M39 stock

Fresh from the arsenal in late '41, PL stamped in early '42, and straight to the front of the Continuation War before it had a chance to cool....

Does this gun tell stories on dark winter days?

No. Some PL marked M91/30's that were captured Russian rifles are not Sako rifles.

But as for M39's, yes, the first M39's delivered were by Sako to the Finn army depot.

That is where the PL marks were put on (at the depot) in early 1942. They realized it was easier to put [SA] on them then it was to put the PL mark, so they stopped the PL marks and started the [SA} mark after a few months.

The rifles came into the Army depot "out of order" (serial number wise) or they marked them out of order at the depot. That is why you have some serial numbers lower with [SA] on them and some PL marked on higher serial numbers.

PL's are fairly hard to find.
