That is a nice rifle. I really like the '20s guns. I also have a '25 Izhevsk that is a fine rifle.

Very nice rifle. It's especially nice to see such a clean bore. I bought all but one of mine sight unseen and it was a nice bonus having some with shiney barrels like this. Another nice rifle to add to the fray.

I have a '24 and a '25 Izhevsk that both have new looking bores and very little wear on the metal or wood. They are both refurbs, but they appear to be minimally changed with most parts being pre-28.Why in the world would you folks guess that the really old rifles would have better bores than the war time and late pre-war guns. You reckon these rifle sat out the war for some reason?

Maybe the older ones were used in the back areas to guard the Vodka and bread supplies. I would imagine the guys wanted as new as they could get out on the front lines.

I have wondered the same thing. You would think every rifle would have been needed and chances are Pre ww2 rifles would definitely be used in battle? Maybe luck of the draw and the owner(s) kept getting killed before getting a shot off?

My '26 has the best bore of the bunch and is the most accurate. My '36 has and awesome bore too, but my '38 is a bit frosty and my m44 has def fired off quite a few rounds in its day
