I don't own a sniper, but I have learned a lot about them by reading threads on this forum. I'm guessing these are not the real thing:

Who has the real snipers these days and how much do they cost?

Yeah they are fakes. Says so in the description. I believe rguns has the real deals. If I remember right they are around $800. Someone that know more about it should be able to tell you more though. I don't have much chance of owning a real sniper haha :)

Read the description.

7.62x54R caliber WWII era military bolt action rifles, with PU sniper scopes. These are PU style scopes of recent production in the former USSR, with lens caps that stay with the scope when removed to prevent loss. They have been fitted to the 91/30 rifles with a new steel mount, and have had the bolt turned down. Rifles could be round or hex receiver and may or may not have the ex-sniper marks. Mounts are electric pencil marked to match the guns. Arsenal refinished in very good condition. Bore condition good. C&R eligible. CIA # RI1274-V/RI1274-X

Yeah; I guess the ad was a dead giveaway, if I would have read it carefully. No deals out there for sure. I still see some on RGuns.

Rguns has real ones, and ATI has real ones. Does anyone know if Samco still has the scopeless PUs? If so, those are real also, they just don't have the scope and mount.

Cheaper to just buy a 91/30 and forget about the scope and mount, a $150 .22 Marlin has a better scope and is easier to use than the PU anyway.

Easy Jumper. That smiley always reminds me of when i hunt the high country. One time there was a sign on the trail start to yell loudly and wave and make abunch of noise when approaching the creek cause there was a dead horse there and you were supposed to scare the bears away. It looked just like that smiley there in the creek. I did not take a stick to it though.

In comparison to modern optics the PU scope is a dinosaur... I probably will never get one & if I did have the funds to buy a sniper, I would buy a Remington 700 Police Sniper in .308. Remington 700P

They are neat as a "novelty" or for a collection, but I agree, the scope is not that much more powerful than using iron sights. :ugeek: :ugeek:

I agree,

you buy the M91/30 PU for it's collect-ability, not for it shooting ability. It's at the bottom of the food chain as far as being an effective sniper today. Many better scopes on the market today.

That is why I can't understand the interest in a fake M91/30 PU sniper. It's neither collectable or very accurate in today's world.
