Messrs. Smith and Wesson paid a visit today
It was a deal that I could not refuse. A .357 Combat Magnum. Probably owned in the past by a cop somewhere. I shows a little holster wear at the muzzle but other than that, it is a beauty. I am going to give it a workout tomorrow. I also picked up a '43 Long Branch that I will take some pics up tomorrow. It ain't half bad either.

Nice.
“Freedom is the right to tell people what they do not want to hear.” George Orwell, English novelist, essayist, and critic, 1903-1950
Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.
C. S. Lewis

Leave it as it is. The ages have been at work on it and man can only mar it.

Sweet find Steve, I might need to hit the stores you're shopping at!

Wow, that is a beautiful find. Should be great to shoot (if you can hang on to it!)
I have weak wrists, I need something a little less of a "bite" unfortunately.

Great find; Congratulations! You'll find it much more pleasant to shoot with some .38 Special ammo. Those full power magnums are not for the faint of heart.

Yea, that is why I sold my .44 lightweight magnum a few weeks back. Good riddance.

Well, if you can find a nice revolver in .44 Special, it is an absolute joy to shoot. The Ruger Flatop .44 Special Blackhawk is my favorite, but I have a S&W Model 24 that is really great as well.

I shoot my 357 smiths but mostly use my 38spl loads. Wadcutters are a hoot in my 6in 357s. Couldn't pull up the pics but I'll bet you will really like it. I also shoot medium loads in my 44s. They are both N frame guns so the recoil is very mild.
