Found a nice M27 at a local shop that just opened

Post by kpangon »

I decided to check out a newly opened gun shop near me, without the expectation of finding much. I was pleasantly surprised to find this very nice 1935 M27 for $700. I knew it was coming home with me right then. The bluing and stock on it are both in excellent condition. The barrel looks perfect as well. The bolt matches the rifles serial. It's got a 1905 Tula receiver, and was still coated in cosmoline under the wood. I haven't shot it yet, but I expect it will shoot quite well.

Here it is:

Leave it as it is. The ages have been at work on it and man can only mar it.

Hard to find these days! And a beautiful rifle too.
I have a 1934 M27 that shows all the same traits.

Very nice find!

Very nice indeed. It's rare to find any of these old rifles in the few shops we have left around here.

Very nice! Don't see many M27's. Man prices have went up! I love the one's I have, and every one I've come across save one that I saw in a Myrtle Beach, SC pawn shop on vacation four years ago has come home with me.

Nice find :vcool: sounds like It might have been wiped off and fired with grease in the chamber, I'd check.

That was a great find at a very fair price. Shooting these fine old rifles is on a whole different level. Up there perhaps with a nice Swiss K31 or perhaps the fine Mausers made by the Swedes. Thanks for sharing it. Your pictures are excellent
