What's the safest way to clean a Finn stock

What's the safest way to clean a Finn stock

I recently acquired a 1934 Tula Finn captured reworked and it is to me a very beautiful M 91/30 ,when I got it it was covered in cosmoline and the stock has what I believe has the Finnish treatment , Is it the BLO and I want to clean the grime off of the stock without ruining the finish any true way to do that will be very helpful...thanks

I put mine in the sun and then wipe down with paper towels. Others have warmed theirs by putting in a black garbage bag and placing on the dash.

Either way, that's all you should do.
