I just picked up a couple of Chinese type 56 SKS rifles BNIB and still in cosmoline and wow lots of info here. :thumbsup:

I'm working up north right now so all I got is a crappy cell phone pic but next week I'll get them cleaned up and post some good pics. :wink:

Well I got one of the twins cleaned up and it don't look to bad.Some milling marks on the barrel but I think that is typical for Chinese sks rifles.The wood looks pretty good and that spike bayonet looks wicked. :shock:

As for accuracy well it shoots saucer size groups at a 100 yards,pretty much normal.

Anywho I happy with it. :thumbsup:

The three rifles pictured with a 1,000,000 serial number are 1957's. '56 is the only year with 4, 5, or 6 digit numbers. If it has one or two cryllic letters before the number, it was made by Russians the 1st 6 months of '56, training Chinese machinists. These are called Sino-Soviet.
There were no commercial rifles made in the 50's-60's.

Looking at getting this rifle but I only want a rifle that was made for the Chinese military or issued. Here are the pictures, the seller says it's a late 1970 or 71. If anyone could help it would be great. He also gave me permission to post pics of his rifle!
