I think that the poster is asking about a barrel band spring.
If that is the case, the springs come in two sizes/styles; one for the front and one for the rear. They should be interchangeable on the following rifles: Dragoon, Soviet M91/30, M38, M44, M91/59, M91/38, Finnish M91/30.
