Vepr 7.62x54r 16.5 inch value

Post by vitaminboy »

I asked this on another forum and got a no more than $750 and another of $1,000 or more. Can anyone here help out with a value on a seemingly unfired VEPR in 7.62x54r? Before I do something dumb, or smart. Thanks for any answers/opinions.

Thank you. I am unable to find a current (available) rifle. I see a 20.5 inch but it is listed at $1799. I appreciate your answer.

Atlantic Firearms, as well as almost every (if not ever) vendor is sold out of Vepr 54r rifles. You'll find a lot listed under $1,000, but they'll all say "Out of Stock". The only Vepr rifles that I've seen in stock were the 12 guage, .243, 30-06, stuff like that. 7.62x39 were in stock not too long ago, surprisingly. I'd personally try to get over $1,000 if selling. It's not as desirable as a longer barreled rifle, but I'm sure somebody out there is looking for a 54r Vepr.

Well, maybe I should have checked Gunbroker completed auctions prior to posting. There were two 20inch Vepr rifles listed. One only bid up to a little over $1k. The other had no bids/buys at $1,290--this surprises me as the Vepr is a much more stout rifle than the PSL.

Thank you for the replies. Yes there doesn't seem to be an apples to apples comparison available
