My first post- original matching 1899 M91 Tula

Post by John_Galt »

Thanks for having me on the forum! This will be my official first posting. I have already posted this rifle on gunboards, but I figured I would go ahead and post it here for good measure. Definitely the crowning jewel in my MN collection. Thanks again for the add!

Many of us peruse both sites but others avoid Gunboards so you will please many new viewers too with your fantastic Mosin. You may also enjoy the showcase here, on the main page.

I was tipped off by another forum member about the thread in the other forum. Looks like you've got a "one in a million" M-91. Definitely showcase material.

“Freedom is the right to tell people what they do not want to hear.” George Orwell, English novelist, essayist, and critic, 1903-1950

Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.

Rifles like this are out there all it takes is getting off your duff and checking for them! They aren't marching in off the internet believe me. I found mine at an auction with a bayonet and a scabbard. Only reason I got it is because I held it in my hands and with knowledge of years of reading and study knew I had to have it. Bidding started with an absentee bid of $500 and I got it for one bid of $525. It is a very similar 1900 Tula with a lock ring bayonet and scabbard too. I believe I have had pictures of it on here. So congrats for an effort and a result. Things don't come to you in life you need to make an effort and find them. Bill
